It’s not much of a health risk to people, but it does raise some serious concerns for our native birds and poultry farmers. 4. The revolving door on Downing Street - After mounting calls for him to step down,, Keir Starmer has resigned as PM of the UK. The parliament’s newest MP, Andy Burnham, is expected to run uncontested for the role at this stage.
5. About 4,000 NDIS submissions later - The Senate inquiry into the NDIS has been extended with a due date for the report in mid-August. The Greens agreed to support the CGT changes in exchange for extending the inquiry after growing concerns from the disability sector. For its part, the Albanese Government is a bit grumbly about it, saying the extension will delay cost-cutting measures.

Sunday - The Darwin Beer Can Regatta is on in the Northern Territory, which is exactly what it sounds like, and we can’t wait for the pics… And at 11pm, the F1 Austrian Grand Prix kicks off in Spielberg. You can see that on Kayo.
Monday - Block 3 of hearings in the Royal Commission into Antisemitism and Social Cohesion will begin at 9am in Sydney. This block will focus on the sharing of anti-Semitic content and other hateful content online as well as in traditional media. And Wimbledon kicks off in London - it’s on until 12 July. We’ll be watching out for the return of Serena Williams…
Tuesday - The report for the inquiry into illegal tobacco is due in federal Parliament. And have a little scroll if you fancy, it’s Social Media Day.
Wednesday - At 12.30pm, Tim Duggan, chair of the Digital Publishers Alliance, will address the National Press Club, followed by a panel Q&A with Natalie Harvey from Mamamia and our very own Claire Kimball. And it’s Territory Day in the Top End.
Thursday - At 7.45pm, the NRLW season will kick off with an opening round match between the Sharks and the Knights in Sydney. Watch that on 9Now.
Friday - At 9.30pm, Australia’s basketballing blokes will play Guam in a World Cup qualifier in Perth - you can watch that on Kayo. And it’s the rumoured start date of wedding celebrations between Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift at Madison Square Garden in New York…
