As world leaders flocked to the Vatican to attend the funeral for Pope Francis last Saturday, this photo of the moment where US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky paused inside St Peter’s Basilica to talk peace will be one of the shots of the year.
Squiz Recommends
Playing - Snake on a Globe - it’s a take on the classic game that takes you (as the name implies) around the world on an apple-eating mission, and let’s just say we’re slightly addicted… OK, more than slightly - give it a go at your own peril…
Listening - To the ABC’s Mushroom Case Daily podcast series, which follows the trial of Erin Patterson over that fateful lunch… Delivered by court reporter Kristian Silva, who snagged one of the 6 seats for media in the courtroom, she’s across the fine detail as the trial progresses.
Watching - We needed a TV show that was like a hug last night - and Tina Fey’s new project starring Steve Carell called The Four Seasons delivered. A comedy/drama about a group of long-term friends (and based on a film written/directed by the legendary Alan Alda), we set out to watch a couple of episodes and ended up binge-watching almost all of it. It’s just been released on Netflix. It’s a good one…
Get out and vote why don’t you…
It’s the most wonderful time of the (every 3) year(s)... Election day is here, and it’s the day for a hard-earned Democracy Sausage washed down with a sense of civic duty. There’s a strong chance you’ve voted already, but if you haven’t, today’s the day. Head to the AEC website to find out where and when you can vote at any one of the 7,000 polling stations open today. May your vote be legible and valid…
In the Kitchen
A good bowl of noodle soup can heal just about anything - even your favoured candidate not getting up this weekend - and this turmeric and coconut one does just the trick. Bung in whatever veggies you’ve got, find the biggest spoon in your drawer and tuck in.

Double-Tapping
Nope, it’s not your alarm (we don’t want to do that to you on a Saturday…) - those uncanny tunes are the musical stylings of Safri Duo - and we can barely manage Chopsticks with our eyes open…
