The fallout continues from the Coalition collapse - On Tuesday, Liberal leader Sussan Ley set what she says are non-negotiable conditions for a Liberal-Nationals coalition to come back together, which include a 6-month ‘exile’ for the Nats frontbenchers who broke ranks on the hate crimes vote a couple of weeks ago. 3. A big Epstein file dump - The US Justice Department's release of 3 million files, including emails, videos, and photos related to financier Jeffrey Epstein, made international headlines this week. 4. A tragic scene in Western Australia - On Friday, 4 members of a family in Perth were found dead in their home in what was quickly determined to be a double murder-suicide. The family had recently been cut off from the NDIS scheme - disability advocates are calling for greater support for families with high needs kids.
5. And an update on Dezi Freeman - Another search for Dezi Freeman in Buffalo National Park was underway this week. Police say the alleged cop killer is probably dead, but no body has been found. To be continued…

Saturday - The Winter Olympics opening in Milan Cortina has happened early this morning, and the official day one of the Games will kick off at around 6pm tonight - you can watch that live on Channel 9. Sunday - Israeli President Isaac Herzog arrives in Australia for 5 days - he was invited by PM Anthony Albanese following the Bondi terrorist attack. And there are 2 pretty significant elections - Thailand and Japan vote today.
Monday - Super Bowl LX kicks off at 10.30am between the New England Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks - Bad Bunny will be performing at the half-time show, and you can watch that on 7plus. And protests are expected in the capital cities against President Herzog’s visit (including in Sydney, despite the extended protest ban…).
Tuesday - Two yucky court cases to know about... Melbourne Magistrates Court will host a committal mention for Joshua Brown, who’s been charged with over 70 sexual assaults against children at several childcare centres. And across the country in Fremantle’s Magistrates Court, there’s another hearing for notable author Craig Silvey on child exploitation charges.
Wednesday - Australia is playing Ireland in the men’s T20 World Cup in Sri Lanka at 8.30pm, you can watch that on Kayo. It’s also the first day of New York Fashion Week for the Fall/Winter season.
Thursday - Another election to watch is the Bangladesh general election happening today, which is described as a "make-or-break" test for Bangladesh's democracy. And Wuthering Heights will be released in Australian cinemas today…
Friday - It’s National Apology Day. That’ll mark 18 years since then PM Kevin Rudd formally apologised on behalf of the government to the Stolen Generations. And in Sydney, it’s the first day of Mardi Gras.

Yesterday, Valentino Guseli launched Australia’s Winter Olympics campaign in “insane” fashion, nailing his last jump in the snowboard big air event to make the final. He’s a last-minute replacement, and did his switch backside 1980 tailgrab (just nod…) with 3 hours' notice. “I found out at 4pm today, and we started training at 6.15pm,” Guseli said of the event that started at 7.30pm local time. “I started shaking, I was shivering. I was like ‘holy crap, this is about to happen.’” Set your alarm - the final’s at 5.30am AEDT tomorrow…
