1. Tensions turn to conflict - Last Saturday, the US and Israel struck Iran, killing the Supreme Leader Ayotollah Ali Khamenei. Many nations in the region have been hit by Iran in retaliation, including Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, and Saudi Arabia. It’s a rapidly evolving story…

2. Keir Starmer calls for de-escalation - The UK PM has said negotiations are the best way forward and has stood by the decision not to be involved in the initial attack, a call criticised by US President Donald Trump. Starmer has described the UK public as “worried sick” over the UK citizens caught up in conflict.

3. Flights back to Oz from the Middle East resume - The first group of Aussies stranded in the Middle East flew home on Thursday. Foreign Minister Penny Wong has confirmed that commercial flights are the fastest way for Aussies to get home, as government repatriation flights have not been arranged at this time.

4. Hilary Clinton’s testimony - This is from former First Lady/Secretary of State’s appearance before the Congressional committee looking through the data dump on dead sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. The committee released footage of the Clintons’ testimonies - both have denied any knowledge of Epstein’s crimes.

5. The economic impact at home - Economists have warned that Australian petrol prices could go up by 40c/l in the coming weeks, but some petrol retailers have already been accused of price gouging and using the conflict as an excuse to hike prices. The ACCC’s on it…
